Clusters
A Cluster — also referred to as a Dataplane — is a Kubernetes cluster connected to a CodeNOW account. It provides the compute infrastructure on which your applications and services run. A single account can own and manage multiple clusters, each representing an independent Dataplane.
What is a CodeNOW Cluster?
A CodeNOW Cluster starts as a standard Kubernetes cluster. To become a fully managed Dataplane, a set of CodeNOW infrastructure components is installed into it — extending the cluster with the capabilities needed to support the full CodeNOW delivery lifecycle. The exact composition of these components depends on the specific Dataplane configuration and may vary between clusters.
Once in place, the cluster becomes a first-class Dataplane — visible in your account, assignable to environments, and ready to receive deployments.
What You Can Do
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Browse clusters | View all clusters connected to your account |
| View cluster detail | Inspect cluster configuration, nodes, and resource allocation |
| Permissions | Manage who has access to the cluster |
Multiple Clusters
An account can connect and manage multiple Clusters simultaneously. This allows you to:
- Isolate production workloads from non-production environments
- Distribute workloads across regions or cloud providers
- Dedicate resources to specific teams or applications
Each Cluster operates independently, but all are visible and manageable from a single CodeNOW account.
To connect a new Cluster to your account, contact the Owner of the account.
